Service Update – Diversion 11th -13th October 2022

On 11th – 13th October inclusive, road works will be being carried out on the A4, Bath Road, Saltford overnight, between 19:00 and 07:00hrs. As a result, the A4 Air Decker service will be diverted during this period and unable to serve Saltford, plus Elsbridge House and Unity Road. Normal service/ line of route will apply outside of these hours. Diversion will be as follows:

Bath to Airport- Normal route to The Globe, where the service will divert through Corston up to The Two Headed Man. It will rejoin the normal route at The New Inn, Wellsway

Airport to Bath – Normal route to The Talbot where the service will divert to The Two Headed Man and rejoin the normal route from The Globe.

Fare Changes from 25th September 2022

From 25th September, Bath Bus Company will introduce new fares on the A4 Air Decker service.

Local journey fares will fall in line with other operators across the West of England, such as First Group, as a result of the BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan), to encourage more people to use public transport. 

Adult single local fares in the Bath and Bristol zones will be reduced to just £2.00 with journeys across both zones costing a maximum of £3.70.

You can still make a saving if travelling regularly between Bath City Centre and Highridge Common by purchasing a 10 journey ticket. These will now cost £30.00 and are valid for up to 3 months. 

An increase of 50p on all airport single journeys and £1.00 on airport returns will apply.

Diversion – Upper Bristol Road Closed on 21st and 22nd September 2022.

Road works are taking place on Upper Bristol Road on 21st and 22nd September inclusive. As a result the A4 Air Decker will be diverted in both directions as follows:

Bath To Airport: Normal service as far as Westgate Buildings. The service will then divert via Charles Street, Midland Bridge, Lower Bristol Road, Windsor Bridge where it will then resume the normal route. We will be unable to serve Monmouth Place, Nile Street, Comfortable Place and Park Lane. 

Airport to Bath: Normal service as far as Windsor Villas. The service will then divert via Windsor Bridge, Lower Bristol Road, Midland Bridge, Green Park Road where it will then resume normal route at James Street West. We will be unable to serve Park Lane, Comfortable Place, Nile Street and Green Park James Street West.

Diversion – 26th September – 30th September 2022.

From 26th September – 30th September 2022 inclusive, there will be roadworks on Pierrepoint Street taking place overnight resulting in the road being closed between 20:00hrs and 07:00hrs the following morning daily. 

As a result of this road closure, all Air Decker departures within this period will be arrive and drop off from outside Bath Bus Station, rather than from outside Debenhams. We will also be unable to serve Terrace Walk. Signage will be in place at the usual bus stop to direct you to Bath Bus Station. 

All departures outside of these hours will operate as normal. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We are deeply saddened by the announcement that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. An inspiration to so many, she dedicated her life to her family, country, the Commonwealth and her people. Her passing is a great loss to all. Our thoughts and sympathies are with His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family at this time”

Service Update- 1st August 2022

Due to roadworks on the A4 Bath Road, the road will be closed from the Globe Roundabout to Elsbridge House for 5 nights between 19:00-07:00.

The A4 Air Decker service will be diverting via the A39, 2 Headed Man, Burnett Hill and Wellsway during this period and will be unable to serve all stops through Saltford, plus Unity Road.

Urgent Service Diversion- 26th July 2022 onwards

Following on from yesterday’s incident involving an object being directed at one of our A4 Air Decker vehicles, and a further near-miss incident later on in the evening, we have made the decision to divert our services until further notice. The diversion is as follows:

Bath to Airport- At Hartcliffe roundabout, we will divert and travel along Hartcliffe Way, bearing on to Bedminster Road, then onto Bridgewater Road, A38. We will travel along the A38 until the junction of Kings Head Lane, continuing straight at the roundabout where we will resume the normal route to the airport 

Airport to Bath – We will travel along the A38 , travelling straight across at Lime Kiln roundabout. We will continue along the A38, Bedminster Road onto the one-way system at Parson Street before bearing right onto Hartcliffe Way to Hartcliffe roundabout where we will resume the normal route to Bath.

PLEASE NOTE: Normal service/ route will be in place every day from 03:00hrs. The diversion route will come into place from 16:00hrs ( 16:00 service from Bath to Bristol Airport and the 16:30 from Bristol Airport to Bath) and remain in place for the remainder of the day’s service. This will be in place daily until further notice. All stops along the diversion route will be served.

Apologies for any disruption this may cause, but has been actioned for the safety of our passengers, drivers and vehicles. We are working in conjunction with the local police force to resolve this as swiftly as possible. 

 

Urgent Service Diversion-25th July 2022

Due to an incident involving one of our vehicles being hit with a brick in the Hartcliffe area this evening, we have made the decision to divert all buses for the remainder of the day in the interest of passenger, driver and vehicle safety. Buses will not serve the South Bristol link road but will travel via Whitchurch Lane, Whitchurch Road, Church Lane and Kingshead Lane before returning to normal route along the A38. This diversion is in place with immediate effect in both directions.

Online Booking – 29th April 2022

Update – the technical issue we had with our online booking system has been resolved, and online bookings can be made!! 

We are currently experiencing an issue with our online booking system. The system is down at present and not available. For anyone travelling in the immediate future please purchase your ticket directly on board the bus from the driver. We are working hard to rectify the issue and get online bookings back up and running.
