From 17th October – 22nd October 2022, Upper Bristol Road will be closed each day between 19:00 hours and 07:00 hours. As a result, the A4 Air Decker will be diverted in both directions during these hours.

The following Air Decker departures will be affected: 

Bath > Airport – 19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00, 03:00, 04:00, 05:00, 06:00

Airport > Bath – 18:30, 19:30, 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00, 01:00, 04:00, 05:00, 06:00

Therefore, the bus will be diverting as follows: 

Bath > Airport – Normal service as far as Westgate Buildings. The service will divert via Charles Street, Midland Bridge, Lower Bristol Road, Windsor Bridge where it will then resume the normal route. 

Airport > Bath – Normal service as far as Windsor Villas. The service will then divert via Windsor Bridge, Lower Bristol Road, Midland Bridge, Green Park Road where it will then resume normal route at James Street West. 

All bus stops along the diversionary route will be served. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. 

Due to the Bath Half Marathon, our Air Decker service will be affected between 9:00 hours and approximately 14:30 hours on Sunday, 16 October.

The following Air Decker departures will be unaffected:        

Bath to Airport – 0300, 0400, 0500, 0600, 0700 and the 08:00.

Airport to Bath – 0400, 0500, 0600.

After this we will be terminating and starting trips at the Globe roundabout where there will be a controller situated.

The A4 Extra Trip

The 0722 extra trip from Harcliffe Roundabout will be cancelled for this day. This is due to the uncertainty about whether we can safely get the bus out of Bath prior to the road closures. 

Once the roads open, the service will return to normal. We will make a service announcement when we are back operating as normal.

On 11th – 13th October inclusive, road works will be being carried out on the A4, Bath Road, Saltford overnight, between 19:00 and 07:00hrs. As a result, the A4 Air Decker service will be diverted during this period and unable to serve Saltford, plus Elsbridge House and Unity Road. Normal service/ line of route will apply outside of these hours. Diversion will be as follows:

Bath to Airport- Normal route to The Globe, where the service will divert through Corston up to The Two Headed Man. It will rejoin the normal route at The New Inn, Wellsway

Airport to Bath – Normal route to The Talbot where the service will divert to The Two Headed Man and rejoin the normal route from The Globe.
